Turriff Golf Club

Local to Logie Newton Farm, and Farmer David’s home club, it makes perfect sense for us to start with Turriff Golf Club. It’s a beautiful parkland course set on the banks of the river Deveron and only a 15 minute drive from the farm.

The course can be quite challenging with trees and water to be avoided. Before you tee off from the first tee you can warm up in the practice bays and get your eye in on the putting green.

A visit to the clubhouse after your round is a must.  Here you will receive a warm welcome and panoramic views over the 18th green and the first tee. While in the clubhouse you can also enjoy some good food from David Bennet Catering, whether that’s a tasty snack, three course meal or from 5pm on a Sunday there is the popular carvery which is always popular with the Cruickshank family.

Whether you are looking for some lessons to perfect your swing or looking to grab yourself some new golfing kit, you can pop into the onsite Pro Shop where James Calam and his team will be happy to assist you.

Duff House Royal Golf Club

Travelling further along the River Deveron to the mouth of the river is where the town of Banff is situated and the home of Duff House Royal Golf Club. It’s a Championship Course that is a relatively flat parkland course with some challenging greens.

Before or after your game you can relax in the comfortable sofas of the recently renovated club house which offers good food and a well-stocked bar. An extensive onsite Pro Shop is not only where you check in before you tee off but also a place where you can hire clubs to save you bringing your own on your golf holiday.

Within the borders of the treelined course is Duff House, considered one of the grandest classical country houses built in the 18th century. Managed by Historic Scotland, you can visit the house before or after your round of golf.

Buckpool Golf Club

Buckpool is one of two golf clubs in the coastal town of Buckie in North East Scotland.

As it’s a links style course situated on the cliff tops overlooking the Moray Firth, it’s one where you can enjoy magnificent coastal views.  Farmer David loves this course especially in winter as it is built on sand ensuring it is dry all year.

For those who are more active, you can also hire out their two squash courts.

If you are looking to relax before or after your game, the Clubhouse can cater for you and rustle up anything from a quick coffee and sandwich to a three course meal. The bar is well-stocked too!

Cruden Bay Golf Club

Cruden Bay is a championship links course which is on the must visit list of golf courses for golf tourists to Scotland.

It is worth visiting not only for the views from the elegant clubhouse over the golf course and on to the North Sea, but the view from the 9th tee is stunning.

The golf course is set against a backdrop of subtly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views.

After your round of golf you can also visit Slains Castle which is only a 15 minute walk from the golf course.

Cruden Bay Golf Club is set next to the golden sandy beach and Slains Castle.

Trump International Golf Links

Like or loath him, one of Donald Trump’s golf courses, Trump International Golf Links, is an amazing links golf course on the East coast of Scotland and makes a great addition to any golf holiday in Aberdeenshire.

The course is beautifully manicured with different tees to suit all abilities and embraces mile after mile of coastline.

The clubhouse offers nice surroundings with very good reasonably priced food of stylish modern classics as well as firm favourites with a Trump twist. The Dunes Restaurant and Bar, situated in the Clubhouse has floor-to-ceiling windows, offering stunning views across the Great Dunes of Scotland championship links course.
